How soon before a special event should I get a VI Peel?
Many patients come into our practice seeking cosmetic treatments to prepare for a special event such as a reunion or wedding. Patients should plan to have their peel performed around two weeks before their event in situations such as this. That is because peeling and redness will occur for some time after treatment, which is expected and shows that the procedure is working! To facilitate faster healing, patients should avoid sun, heat, and extensive workouts for a week after their procedure.
When can I resume my regular skincare products?
- Non-Actives: Can be resumed once peeling has subsided, usually day 6-7.
- Actives: Can be resumed once peeling has subsided and sensitivity has returned to normal, usually day 7-10.
When should I schedule the Next VI Peel?
- VI Peels should be scheduled every 4-6 weeks (for best results)
- Additional Skincare Treatments: It is recommended to wait for a minimum of 2 weeks before any treatment that creates exfoliation of the skin. (Includes facials, extractions, waxing, and threading).Doing a VI Peel 4 weeks before microneedling can boost the effects of the microneedling procedure! So consider pairing these 4 weeks apart
